Build Your Vocabulary, Feed the World…

November 27th, 2007 · 10 Comments

… At least that’s how it’s supposed to work. The vocabulary builder game is sponsored by companies such as American Express and iTunes (to name just a few). Each time you take the vocabulary quiz the sponsor companies donate more rice to the United Nations World Food Program.

If only it were always this easy to do some good!

Here’s the icon (and link) if you want to check the game out for yourself.

Warning: You may find yourself on this site for much longer than you intended to be.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The first time I heard about this site I think I raised $48 million dollars… 🙁

    Hi, Laura!

This is indeed a great site! Isn’t it wonderful to be able to fill our minds with new words while filling the stomachs of the hungry with food at the same time? That’s my kind of website!

    Thanks for spreading the word!

    Hi Tammi, Robert, and Jeanne!

Isn’t it fun, though? How did you do? I was able to get my vocabulary rating into the 40s, but then some obscure word would come along and trip me up.

    Laura,

I made it up into the 40s, as well, but every so often I’d get knocked back down a peg or two. Aren’t some of those words tough? It is fun, though–and even more so knowing that my (hard) work is helping to feed a hungry person!

    Take care!

    Hi Jeanne!

I agree, some of the words are tough. I think that’s good, though. It makes it challenging.

    Hi rampantheart and Chris!

This is a great way to learn new vocabulary. Even using a dictionary, you are still learning new words.
