I discovered the Grammar Girl blog courtesy of a colleague. She e-mailed the link to me and it quickly became a favorite.
I love the way that Grammar Girl handles her topic with humor. Each Grammar Girl post includes an audio file that is basically a grammar lesson. I also like the way Grammar Girl used a poll to incorporate a grammar quiz into her latest post, “On Accident versus By Accident.”
Whether you’re just starting out as a writer or you have been writing for years, there is something new that you can learn from Grammar Girl. I know that I’ll be stopping by her site on a regular basis.
Note: If you’re consistently posting great information and haven’t seen your blog featured in Of Note yet, I apologize. I’ll probably find you soon. I know there are a lot of great blogs out there; I discover more new ones each day. (So many blogs, so little time.)

Hi Laura!
[Kindly delete my earlier comment — it had a wrong link!]
I subscribe to Grammar Girl’s podcast through iTunes and I really like how she tackles one grammar topic per podcast. I’m impressed by how thorough her research is — she typically cites several style guides as references in just a single podcast.
You can actually get her audio book online from Audible.com — if I remember right, Grammar Girl has a promo right now where you can download a complete audio book for free if you register by going to http://audible.com/grammar.
She’s also on Twitter, in case you get around to signing up for that service. 🙂

It’s funny … I’ve been a writer most of my life and majored in philosophy, which meant even more writing. However, it’s things like “on accident vs. by accident” that I find myself frequently searching the web for answers to. Thanks for pointing that site out!

Hi Mdy! I was really impressed by Grammar Girl too. I liked her posts almost immediately and was impressed by her handling of the subject.
Hi Web Urbanist! It’s true that it’s the little things that often trip us up. I find that I make more mistakes when I am tired.

7 Confusable Grammar Situations // Oct 27, 2008 at
Grammar girl is a real resource as you say. I must say people still make mistakes after so many years of learning grammar and punctuation. Basics are what most people are weak in.
